Some moments change you forever.  They stand apart in your personal timeline as the marvel of a lifetime. This is one of those moments.

That is what a miracle looks like.

We had our baby girl this week.  I can’t write this without tearing up.  I stand all-amazed.

We are more than just flesh and bones, more than a collection of cells and atoms, more than what we see.  Life is a miracle.  It’s a miracle.  After EVERYTHING that we know about science, birth, development, babies, and medical science, we still can’t explain it or create it on our own. It’s God’s work and His glory.  And life is just that—glorious.

Going through childbirth, you feel your own frailty and helplessness.  It is so humbling. Holding your infant you feel their utmost dependence on you and at the same time you feel their strength, individuality and indescribable worth. What a wonder life is.  What a wonder.

Life is a gift.

  1. Oh for goodness sake, those dimples! Have mercy! She is so perfect! And those little smiles! So happy for you to have your new treasure here, she is amazing.

  2. I am so happy to see her! I was dying for more pictures. I only saw one tiny cell phone text and the day, this was so so much more! She has a lot of hair and a round face, and what a cute, warmy, going home outfit. Thank you for posting and letting me meet her and the kiddos see their new cousin. Love you!
